Scene number one unveiled itself at the local ATM the other day. There is only a few here so there is usually a line and I found myself standing in it with a buddy who needed cash. About five people in front of us was a young soldier who was trying to get some money out when it denied him for insufficient funds. So he swiped his card and tried again, same result. He swiped it for a third time, this time checking his balance and that was when he lost it. He punched the machine, screaming, " G** D*****, not again! I cant believe she keeps doing this!" "F***!!!!!!!!!!!!" He then stormed off to either cry in a dark corner or chew her out over the phone.. who knows. Hopefully he will get a new account and cut her and her new boyfriend off.
You could hear the pain in his voice, it was quite the temper tantrum. We all knew what happened; she wiped him out. Apparently this wasn't the first time either.Way to go buddy, you picked a winner.
Scene number two has been going on for awhile now, but it appears the final blow happened the other day. It involved a soldier of ours and his wife. This couple had been together for quite awhile, and have a few kids too. I didn't care to get into the gossip of it all, as much as I do love gossip, but the short story is some wives can not handle being a military wife. I know it has to be hard on them. I cant even imagine it. But we are an aviation unit for crying out loud. Our biggest problem is that there is no hot water. But never-the-less she couldn't do it. She cracked and could not take care of the kids, the law got involved and all sorts of drama. So a very critical member of our team is headed home to handle things on the home front because she couldn't. We are shorthanded already and now even less guys are stuck having to do more. We will be alright, we are pretty damn good at what we do, but you can see how one bad apple can really screw things up. Hopefully this is the last guy we lose to this.
For those of you that know my wife, she is a winner. I know I have nothing to worry about. I count my blessings everyday that I have her. I truly lucked out. To bad these other guys were not as lucky.
